Revision Details: Description of the proper use of tax deposit voucher warranted by volume of them being submitted for extension fees.

  • FTB 3579, column 1, two new paragraphs under Important Information:

It should read:

Only use form FTB 3579 to make a tax deposit payment for previously filed returns if the LP, LLP, or REMIC anticipates owing an additional California fee or tax for its members due to a federal audit, state audit, or other reasons.

Do not use this form to pay the LP, LLP, or REMIC extension amount. Instead use form FTB3538, Automatic Extension for LPs, LLPs, and REMICs.

  • FTB 3579, column 2, C- When to File:

It should read:

  • FTB 3579, on the cut line, centered:

  • FTB 3579, bottom of the tax voucher, in the middle above the registration lines, add a small box and insert:

DO NOT USE THIS FORM TO PAY LP, LLP, OR REMIC EXTENSION AMOUNT

Revision Details: FTB 3579

  • The SOS file number and FEIN entity areas needed to be switched because the primary id # is the FEIN for these filers. The instructions will be switched to coincide with the new change.
