Revision Details: Description of the proper use of tax deposit voucher warranted by volume of them being submitted for extension and annual fees.

  • FTB 3578, column 1, two new paragraphs under Important Information:

It should read:

Only use form FTB 3578 to make a tax deposit payment for previously filed returns if the LLC anticipates owing additional California tax due to a federal audit, state audit, or other reasons.

Do not use this form to pay the LLC annual tax or extension amount. Instead use form FTB 3522, LLC Tax Voucher, or FTB 3537, Automatic Extension for LLCs.

  • FTB 3578, column 2, C- When to File:

It should read:

Only use form FTB 3578 to make a tax deposit payment for previously filed returns if the LLC anticipates owing an additional California fee or tax for its nonconsenting nonresident members due to a federal audit, state audit, or other reasons.

  • FTB 3578, on the cut line, centered:

DO NOT USE THIS FORM TO PAY LLC ANNUAL TAX OR EXTENSION AMOUNT

  • FTB 3578, bottom of the tax voucher, on the left side above the registration lines, add a small box and insert:

DO NOT USE THIS FORM TO PAY LLC ANNUAL TAX OR EXTENSION AMOUNT
