PIT Remit Return Processing

Purpose of bulletin

To inform staff that the Information Capture and Banking Section stopped processing all Personal Income Tax (PIT) returns on April 15, 2010. They resumed return processing on May 1, 2010, and should have all PIT returns keyed by the end of May.

Background

As in previous years, ICBS will temporarily stop keying all PIT remit returns to process paper checks and balance due PIT returns.

What does this mean to you?

Payments made with PIT returns will not show up on TI or IDAX until the tax returns are keyed. To verify that we have received their return and payment, the taxpayer can check with their banking institution to verify that their payment has cleared.
